New hotel to open in 2019 in Quy Nhon, Vietnam, close to the ICISE conference center

A new hotel is going to be built close to the ICISE conference center in the city of Quy Nhon, Vietnam. The hotel has been designed by StudioMilou - Singapore, the same architectural firm that designed the ICISE conference center. The hotel, opening in 2019, will have 124 hotel rooms and will extend the range of services provided by the ICISE conference center for conventions and conferences. Prof. Rosita Gabbianelli’s visit to ICISE and the Summer School on Nutrigenomics

Prof. Rosita Gabbianelli’s visit to ICISE and the Summer School on Nutrigenomics

Jesi, an ancient town in the middle of Italy, is to host the Summer School on Nutrigenomics. Here at the ICISE conference center we recently had  the pleasure to receive the visit of the organiser, prof. Rosita Gabbianelli. She is Associate Professor in Biochemistry at the University in Camerino, Italy. She unveils, in this interview, her plans of an Asian Summer School on Nutrigenomics. Prof. Rosita Gabbianelli, which is your field of research? My field of research includes nutrigenomics, which can give new insights into strategies useful in maintaining good health by studying the impact of nutrients on gene expression. Nutrigenomics studies bioactive food compounds which can not only properly modulate our genome but also our epigenome. By means of this research we can gain more information about the interplay between food components and health. Research on this subject can also improve our knowledge of the biological properties of food and could lead discovering new foods that are useful for health. Cooperation with...

Quy Nhon among the 10 best winter destinations according to the Guardian

Here in Quy Nhon, we are aware of the beauty of our beaches, which are among the most beautiful ones in Vietnam, and are very proud to know that our city was recently reported by the Guardian as one of the 10 best destinations of the world for winter escapes. Read here below the first lines of the article: Sitting between the busy coastal hotspots of Nha Trang and Hoi An, Quy Nho’n is a relatively unknown, quiet beach town. The intense resort development seen in the country’s more popular seaside locations has yet to reach this region, making for a laidback atmosphere and the perfect place for a relaxed getaway (read the full article). The event organisers that planned events at the ICISE conference center so far often include a half day or full day excursion in their schedule. New organisers contacting us for a venue enquiry will receive also an optional proposal to include, for instance, a full day excursion to...

The 3 biggest opportunities in Vietnam: meeting industry, food, technology

Which are the biggest opportunities in Vietnam? We met Mrs. Elisabeth Hansa at the ICCA congress in Prague last November 2017 and questioned her about it. She worked in the meetings Industry for more than 30 years in senior positions, as CEO, Head of Marketing, head of business development and sales manager in various convention centres in Austria from very big to very small ones. It was a pleasant surprise to know that she is visiting professor at the Hanoi University. We ask her some questions about developing international cooperation, business and knowledge transfer in Vietnam. Which matter did you teach in Hanoi and how often did you travel to Vietnam? I have a strong knowledge base on the association world. I also was a board member of various professional associations in the meetings industry. I taught Meetings Industry in various universities in Austria and now abroad also, among which Vietnam, at Hanoi University. It was my second stay in Vietnam this January...

CIMPA Research School — Rencontres du Vietnam – Noncommutative Geometry and Applications to Quantum Physics

"Our school aims to promote Noncommutative Geometry in Southeast Asia. Many students from this region could attend the School and we think we succeeded in getting them interested in this research topic. We chose to talk about Noncommutative Geometry both as a subject of research in mathematics and in physics..." Mr. Nguyễn Viết Tiến, Deputy Minister of Health of Vietnam, visited the ICISE

M. Nguyễn Viết Tiến, Deputy Minister of Health of Vietnam, visited the ICISE conference center. Mr. Tien’s visit took place while the ICISE conference center was hosting "The Summer School of Computational Biology for Infectious Diseases", an international science school occurring  from 18 to 24/9/2017. During this visit, the Deputy Minister of Health discussed with students studying and working in the country and abroad. He also visited the showroom of experimental stations designed for the ScienceExplora Center, planned to be inaugurated and put into operation in 2018. Here, Mr. Nguyễn Viết Tiến and pupils of the primary school Vo Van Dung, experimented together with the displayed exhibits: optical illusion, electrospray, ion engine designed for the  ScienceExplora Center. Developing science in Southeast Asia

In this interview Prof. Thierry Masson speaks about developing science in Southeast Asia after his recent experience in organising a CIMPA Research School at the ICISE conference center. Thierry Masson talking about developing science in Southeast Asia Prof. Thierry Masson is a CNRS researcher in mathematical physics at the "Centre de Physique Théorique" in Marseille, France. He was a member of the local organizing committee of the 2017 CIMPA Research School — Rencontres du Vietnam -  Noncommutative Geometry and Applications to Quantum Physics. He accepted to answer our questions about developing science in Southeast Asia in respect of his research field, Noncommutative geometry. Which is your field of research? I work on the geometric and algebraic structures related to fundamental physics, mainly in gauge field theories. I am involved in a vivid reseach activity in mathematics named "Noncommutative Geometry", whose purpose is to study new mathematical structures combining geometry, algebra and analysis. We hope to make use of these structures in physics to solve pending...
